How do I start a business? How do I implement an idea in a socially effective way? What does sustainable growth mean?

With a pitch event the on May 31st at Jupiter, powered by Startup Port, the University of Hamburg by brings together the city's social entrepreneurship scene with students from the Master programn Innovation, Business and Sustainability: In this pilot students from different fields of economics will present and social sciences will present their final theses from the course Societal Impact through Entrepreneurship in front of influential players and guests from Hamburg‘s impact scene.

On Friday, May 31, 2024, the students will present their future ideas to a top-class jury at Jupiter on Mönckebergstraße: It includes, among others, Boris Kozlowski, Managing Director of the Hamburger Allianz für Social Entrepreneurship e.V., and Florence Müller, Program Manager of InnoImpact, the funding program by the Hamburger Investitions - and Entwicklungsbank (IFB), as well as Wienke Reynolds, co-founder and CTO of the bioeconomy startup Lignopure.

The event will be opened by Dr. Bakr Fadl, head of the transfer agency at the University of Hamburg. There will also be an impulse from Dr. Birte Prinzhorn, co-CEO of the Impact Hub Hamburg and active for 105 Viertel, as well as a stage talk with Esin Rager, vice president of FC St. Pauli and founder of the well-known organic tea brand Samova.

Program: After the pitches starting from 2:00 p.m. and the following stage program - both in English - the team led by Prof. Dr. Jana-Michaela Timm invites all participants and all guests to network and get together with drinks and finger food starting at 5:00 p.m.

Registration: The event is open to interested public; registration is possible until May 28, 2024 (places subject to availability). The event will take place in English.
