"Family is where life begins & love never ends." From the first moment of our lives, the family plays an important role for us. A family is where we learn about love, ways to behave and think, and eventually become independent. Depending on our culture or society, each of us has experienced a different upbringing and has grown up with a unique understanding of what a family is - our roles, responsibilities and expectations. The concept of a family is always changing and recent history has seen the definition expanded to include cohabitation families, polygamous families and blended families. This week, we will look back to how we grew up and how we keep in touch with our families. We will also discuss alternative and traditional structures of the family unit and look at the cultural and societal impact of such definitions. Check out the individual events to find out more.
