German Courses for International Students

Whether you are just starting to learn German or would like to improve your advanced language skills, the Language Center at Universität Hamburg and the General Languages Program (through the adult education center) offer a wide range of courses for German as a foreign language. Alongside standard courses, there are also courses related to your studies, intercultural skills courses, intensive courses during semester breaks, and semester courses.

These courses are designed for all international students and particularly for Erasmus students and visiting students from other programs. At this information session, you’ll find out what courses are being offered and more about general terms of participation, registration deadlines, and placement tests. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

The PIASTA team will also introduce you to other opportunities to practice and improve your language skills (in addition to language courses) such as the PIASTA Language Cafés and the PIASTA Language Tandem Program. These are places you can meet students from all over the world and make new contacts in the process.
