Happy Birthday, Port of Hamburg! Speicherstadt and parade of ships

The Port of Hamburg will turn 835 in 2024. Come join this birthday party with PIASTA!

There is a big birthday celebration for the harbor every year. This includes an extensive birthday program with fireworks and live music aplenty. See how the Landungsbrücken transform into a colorful fairground!

Before we jump into the festive hustle and bustle, our PIASTA tutors will show you a quieter harbor section, Hamburg’s Speicherstadt: discover various architectural landmarks in the world’s largest warehouse complex, such as the Elbphilharmonie concert hall!

The tour ends at Landungsbrücken, where we will meet up to watch the parade of ships—the day’s highlight. The many ships arriving on Friday for the birthday festivities will set sail from Hamburg on Sunday in a spectacular parade.

• Our Speicherstadt tour will take about 2 hours, from 3–5 pm.
• The parade will start at 5:30 pm. The tour will end near the Elbphilharmonie. If you are still up for more, join our tutors for a walk towards the Landungsbrücken and watch the parade.
