Studying Abroad and CIC

Studying, doing an internship, or conducting research abroad can enrich your life in many ways. You can learn a new language or improve the foreign language skills you already have. You can get to know a new country and its culture and see your discipline from another perspective. Studying or working abroad demonstrates your organizational skills, flexibility, and curiosity, and you gain intercultural skills and make new friends the world over.

The Certificate Intercultural Competence (CIC) is awarded by Universität Hamburg and is proof of your intercultural commitment. It is divided into various components – intercultural training, international experience, intercultural activity, and intercultural studies – of which you can choose three.

At this information session, you’ll find out how you can acquire the CIC as well as more about the various exchange programs, partner universities, and partnerships with Universität Hamburg, and about scholarships and stipends to fund a stay abroad.
