Happy Birthday, Port of Hamburg! Speicherstadt and Fireworks Display

This year, the Port of Hamburg will celebrate its 835th birthday. Come join the party with PIASTA!

Every year, the Hafengeburtstag makes for a big party. This includes an extensive birthday program with fireworks and live music aplenty. See how the Landungsbrücken transform into a colorful fairground!

Before we jump into the festive hustle and bustle, our PIASTA tutors will give you a tour of the quieter part of the harbor area, Hamburg’s Speicherstadt: discover various architectural landmarks in the world’s largest warehouse complex, such as the Elbphilharmonie concert hall!

The tour ends at Landungsbrücken where we will meet up to watch the parade of ships—the day’s highlight. See a fascinating light spectacle in the heart of the Hanseatic city when the breathtaking fireworks turn the Elbe River into an ocean of colors.

• Our Speicherstadt tour will take about 2 hours, from 7–9 pm.
• The fireworks will begin at 9:30 pm. Our tour will end near the Elbphilharmonie. If you are up for more, join our tutors for a walk towards Landungsbrücken and watch the fireworks.
