Heading out of Town: Outing to the Botanical Gardens and Picnic at Jenisch Park

  • 12:00 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m.
S-Bahn train station Klein Flottbek (S1), exit Loki Schmidt-Garten

Do you want to escape the city’s hustle and bustle and discover the beauty of nature? Come join our outing to the Loki-Schmidt Garden in Klein Flottbek!

This tour takes you on a journey to various botanical and geographical wonders of the world. There is a lot to explore, from the poison garden—with toxic plants that can have lethal or curative effects—to the desert garden and its blue pyramids. Here, the Arabian-inspired irrigation system quietly ripples, creating a real oasis feeling. We will walk on through the North American prairie to South America to admire peculiar-looking araucarias and majestic redwoods. Strikingly beautiful are the Japanese Garden’s meditative landscape and the Alpinum miniature mountain range—a display of the flora and vegetation of the European Alps.

  • We will first join an English-language tour (2 hours approx.) through the Botanical Garden.
  • Come prepared for a cozy picnic at the beautiful Jenisch Park afterwards.
  • Bring along a snack or other delicacies for the picnic.

We look forward to meet you at this fun outing!Contact and information: If you have any questions, just contact our Team for Cultural Events and Leisure Activities. On the PIASTA website, you will find lots of additional information about us and our program.
