What is kohero?

kohero is an inclusive platform for migrants. Our mission is to make the perspectives, stories, and opinions of people who have migrated to Germany more visible to the public. Where other media outlets may not provide adequate representation, we step in to fill the gap. We are committed to the idea that coexistence is achievable only when every voice is heard. Therefore, we support refugess and migrants in capturing and sharing their thoughts with everyone. Our aim is to tell stories, provide information, facilitate discussions, and foster understanding.

What is the Writing Café?

The Writing Café is a workshop for anyone’s with a migration or refugee background interested in writing about current topics. No prior experience required!—just a bit of time and a passion for writing and storytelling. Each session features a new topic, insights into different presentation styles, or tips from experienced authors.

What can you expect at Writing Café?

PIASTA tutors will meet with interest Uni Hamburg students. Together, we will head to kohero, located not too far from campus, on Bornstraße. Doors open at 6 PM. The Writing Café is held on first Wednesday of each month, from 6 to 8 PM, alternating between online and in-person sessions. Please bring a laptop or tablet if you wish to write digitally. We’ll provide pens, paper, drinks and snacks.
