Universität Hamburg / ESA West, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, West, Room 221

Shaky hands, a quivering voice, stressful thoughts ... Are you familiar with stage fright and nervousness around presentations? During your studies, you will often need to present a topic or results in front of a larger group. But presenting doesn’t have to be torture. With practice, you’ll find that it becomes easier and that it can even be fun to share information with others.

At this workshop, we will use group tasks and role-plays to practice overcoming timidness, expanding your comfort zone, and using your own personal style to engage the audience in your presentation.

Learning content and objectives:

  • recognize the difficulties of public speaking
  • develop awareness of personal charisma and nonverbal communication
  • learn to direct your attention and inner focus for a calm, confident demeanor
  • breathing techniques to combat stress
  • find your own voice by engaging in fun exercises
  • use body language and gestures
  • communicate content to larger groups in a lively manner
  • capture your listeners’ interest and attention
  • have more fun preparing your presentations

Contact and information: If you have any questions, just contact our team for our program of seminars and workshops. On the PIASTA website, you will find lots of additional information about us and our program.

We look forward to your participation!
