A Change of Perspective – What is it like to study without sight?

Thu,

28.11.2024

  • 2:00 p.m.
  • 5:00 p.m.
PIASTA, Rentzelstraße 17, conference room on the ground floor, How to find us, Accessibility information

This afternoon, in collaboration with the AStA Office for Students with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses, we offer you the chance to broaden your perspective: Have you ever wondered what it’s like to live and study without being able to see? Maybe you’ve asked yourself what challenges exist at university for blind students and what solutions might be possible? Or would you like to know the best way to approach and offer help to a blind or visually impaired person?

We’ve prepared some exciting activities for you! For example, you’ll have the chance to try reading Braille yourself and tackle seemingly simple everyday tasks using simulation glasses.

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have on the subject in a relaxed setting over coffee. With a mix of personal stories and hands-on experiences, we’ll help you approach the topic in a comfortable and engaging way. A student and staff member from the office will share their personal experiences and is happy to engage in discussions with all participants.

Curious? Open yourself up to the experience and come join us! We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
