Going to university after you finish school or a vocational training course is a new and exciting experience, but you might struggle to find your bearings at first. Even after completing the first semesters, some of the information available may remain opaque to you, and you might miss out on some great opportunities. ArbeiterKind.de is an organization of 6,000 volunteers in 80 local groups who encourage pupils from nonacademic backgrounds to be the first in their family to go to university. They provide these students with help and support throughout their time at university and into the early stages of their career.
This event is an opportunity to meet volunteers from the Hamburg group of ArbeiterKind.de. They will talk about their own experiences and answer your questions about topics such as BAföG grants, scholarships, semesters abroad, and everything else you want to know. Of course, you will also find out how ArbeiterKind.de can help you during your studies and at the start of your professional life.
Everyone is welcome, no matter if you are the first in your family to go to university or not.
