Authentic Presentations – Use Your Presence, Voice, and Charisma to Your Advantage

  • 11:00 a.m.
  • 4:00 p.m.
Universität Hamburg / ESA West, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1, West, Room 221

What makes for a charismatic presentation? What challenges might you face when speaking to a larger group? How can you consciously use your breath, voice, and body language to engage your audience in such situations? This workshop is for all students who would like to hone their presentation skills or take a closer look at how they come across to others. There will be the opportunity to practice parts of your presentation in front of the group and to work specifically on individual difficulties.

Content and learning objectives:

  • identify your strengths and weaknesses when speaking in front of an audience
  • develop awareness of personal charisma and nonverbal communication
  • learn to direct your attention and inner focus for a calm, confident demeanor
  • practice breathing techniques to release tension and nervousness
  • find your own voice by engaging in fun exercises
  • learn to prepare and structure longer presentations
  • communicate content to larger groups in a lively manner
  • capture your listeners’ interest and attention
  • bring your personality and humor into the design of your presentations
